The beautiful mosaic here
on the Dixie State Campus has been dedicated to Mrs. Helen Barber and Mr. and Mrs.
William H. Child for their generous contribution to the development of the
project, along with their outstanding interest in it. The National Endowment for the Arts of Washington
DC, a federal agency granted a large portion of the money to contribute to the
mural. The mosaic was developed in
1975. It is known as the Dixie college
outdoor mosaic. It is viewed from the left to right to represent and symbolize an
important aspect of the Virgin River and its significance of the Dixie region
of the American Southwest. The mural is
15ft 4 ½in by 127ft 9 inches of ceramic
tile and it is located on the Graff building of fine arts.
